Has it been too long since your teeth felt clean and fresh? Even if you missed a cleaning or two, we are here to help restore your oral health!

There is no reason to feel ashamed of missing a few dental appointments. We know that life often gets in the way of taking care of ourselves.

We welcome you to get back on track here at NOLA Dentures and General Dentistry, where we will help you get the dental care you need for a healthy smile.

Your Dental Cleaning in 3 Steps

We take great pride in giving patients the personal treatment they deserve and offer dental cleanings based on your current needs.

Step 1 – Periodontal Evaluation

In order to give you the appropriate dental cleaning, we perform a periodontal evaluation to identify any gum disease or signs of infection.

Not all dental cleanings are the same. A simple dental cleaning is for patients who are generally healthy and practice good home care habits. We also offer periodontal dental cleanings when you have had periodontal disease in the past. Finally, we offer deep dental cleanings for patients with active gum disease who need targeted care to enjoy good health again.

Step 2 – Remove Tartar and Polish Teeth

We use either precision instruments or an ultrasonic cleaner to effectively remove tartar and debris from your teeth. This is also effective for removing surface stains. Polishing your teeth will restore their shine and remove any tiny particles with prophy paste – professional toothpaste used by dental hygienists.

Step 3 – Diagnostic Dental X-Rays

Regular dental x-rays allow us to track changes with your oral health. This may include signs of decay, bone loss, cysts, infection, or damage. Dr. Schafer will review your images and alert you to any dental conditions.
