Our NOLA Dentures and General Dentistry team understand the vital part your dentures play in your life. They allow you to eat comfortably, speak clearly, and put forth an appearance you're proud of. So when your dentures fail or break, we completely get the frustration our patient's experience.

Suddenly, they may feel like they don't want to leave home due to embarrassment or an inability to enjoy themselves, and they want a quick fix. Fortunately, we're here to help.

How Do I Get My Dentures Repaired?

Dr. Russel Schafer and our team can inspect the dentures and let you know whether they need replacement or whether we can repair them for you.

We often recommend replacement when:

  • Dentures are close to the end of their lifespan, which is generally around five to seven years
  • The dentures are severely damaged, and repair would be as costly or similar in cost to a set of new dentures

When dentures are eligible for repair, the time and cost will vary. Some repairs we can perform in a few hours, returning your dentures to normal in a short amount of time. However, some repairs require a week to two weeks. It will depend on the situation and how badly the dentures have been broken.

After examining the dentures, we can better estimate the time and cost involved in repairing them.

We do not recommend attempting to repair your dentures at home. It is possible that you could accidentally destroy dentures that we could restore.

One-Day Dentures in Gretna, LA

If we recommend replacing your dentures entirely, we may offer one-day dentures. Dr. Schafer provides these to help patients who don't want to go without dentures for weeks while waiting on the lab to create their new, customized dentures.

Dr. Schafer can create one-day dentures in our on-site lab on the same day you come in, making your replacement dentures immediately available.
